Strange thing for Nicaragua, was in Central America where Spanish is spoken, the official name of the two islands is in English: Big Corn Island and Little Corn Island. It ‘a reminder of the time, between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the two islands were part of the British protectorate of the Mosquito Coast, the coast of mosquitoes. Many mosquitoes and many pirates, who came here to hide.

Tourism here has developed mainly thanks to fans of diving, happy to swim in the crystal clear waters of the coral reef that surrounds the islands, particularly rich in fish. There are a lot of lakes around the world, close as the lake Vico, in Tuscia near Rome, and far away, like the Lake Hillier, a pink lake in Australia. There are lakes that do not seem lakes, lakes where you go to swim with jellyfish, and lakes that are called Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg.

Then there are the lakes that are located where it should be, as a series of lakes that are located in the Sahara desert, in the north-east of Chad, occupying a basin among the Tibesti Mountains, and that for this reason, the 2012, appear in the list of protected sites as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Polynesia: Tetiaroa island of Marlon Brando

The Tetiaroa island, so far known as the private island of the great Marlon Brando, it is poised to become one of the most exclusive lodges in French Polynesia. Surrounded by spectacular turquoise waters, the Tetiaroa island, about 50 km north of Tahiti.

Tetiaroa was also a sacred land for local people. On the island the Polynesians built a shrine to their gods and for a long time, at least until the arrival of Westerners, was a place of refuge for the great leaders of Tahiti.

Inescapable paradise; Tortola, British Virgin Islands

What’s not to love with a paradise whose people start every conversation with warm greetings? Hitchhiking is even possible with a pointy finger, welcome to the splendid tourist destination of Tortola, the capital island of the British Virgin Islands. Remember to say the appropriate greetings of the day every time you ask for directions or if you want to hop on for a free ride. As such, for the well-off travelers, just rent a charter boat to see more of the islands where you can simply anchor on one of the breathtaking islets and lagoons and do some splendid snorkeling. For those on budget, there are plenty of cheaper boat rides that can take to you to the nearby islands that are equally breathtaking.

Once you get to the mainland, safaris are the typical mode of transportation; they’re just modified pickup trucks resembling an open jeep. There are not so much to see in the mainland except some notable original wooden houses taking away about 5 seconds of your interest. Nonetheless, you will find plenty of shops with fantastic souvenir items to bring home. Of course, with all that green, it could also be one of those faraway mountain Islands in the South Pacific between South America and New Zealand.

But we are in Europe, administratively in Cornwall, the “horn” of western Britain. Tips for traveling to Sardinia

By now there are few places to discover, or rather, places where tourism is not part of the landscape. Sardinia is one of these places and perhaps is what makes it a virgin, almost undiscovered yet. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful island and the beaches of the Costa Smeralda are heavenly, especially the coves of the Maddalena Island.

The best time to travel in this Mediterranean island is during spring and autumn, as temperatures are mild and you don’t have to support the strong heat of summer or the damp cold of winter. That’s why we advise to travel to Sardinia in these times; it is also the best way to not find crowds in the tourist attractions of Sardinia or crowds on the beaches.

It’s spring, start visiting the Borromean islands
