Museums in Stockholm: Vasa, modern and National museum

Stockholm is definitely not famous for its museums, but there are many museums, galleries and permanent exhibitions, not that you can see around the city, where discover the history, or simply admire works of art. To discover the city’s history and Swedish culture simply visit the Historiska Museum, Nordiska Museum, dedicated to the history and traditions, or the Vasa Museum, which contains a galleon of 1600.

The latter was built and dedicated to a galleon that sank a few miles from the port of Stockholm on the day of its launch, remaining stranded at sea for centuries before being recovered almost entirely and transported to the museum in the 60s. Australia: Tour of the underground gold mine at Walhalla

The Walhalla is usually associated with religious references in northern Europe. But it also indicates an area of the region of Victoria, Australia. At Walhalla we find an interesting museum, housed in the old tunnels of a gold mine now abandoned.

The Long Tunnel Extended Gold Mine came with the first excavations in 1836 by Hercules United Gold Company, but definitely wrong path and direction, lying for 8 years to dig useless rock devoid of precious minerals. Taking advantage of the bankruptcy of its predecessor, the Long Tunnel Extended Company began to dig in 1871, but this time in the opposite direction.   • The Malmohus is the largest art museum in the city, dedicated to the history and medieval civilization. This is an old castle that has been restored to become an art gallery, in this case, the Malmo Konsthall. It also has a branch of natural history where you can find stuffed animals, vivariums, aquariums.
  • Rooseum was founded around 1900. It has replaced a former power station.
  • The Museum of Modern Art in Malmo, very recent, is used to expose the different creations of contemporary artists.

Discovering Museums Gadagne in Lyon

Start by admiring this building in the early sixteenth century. Revised by a Florentine family, this is one of the most beautiful buildings in Lyon. Bought in the early twentieth century by the city, it is now the setting for two museums, one in the history of the city of Lyon and Puppets of the World.
