I think that by now everyone knows to Bondi Beach, the most famous beach in Sydney, one of the most famous urban beaches in the world; the more experienced will know Shelly Beach, the only beach in Sydney turned to the West, and the long Sunny Beach.
Less known is Avalon Beach, also because it is located about 40 kilometers north from Sydney, but for many it is one of the best beaches in the area, if only for its crystal clear waters, which do not have to deal with drainage problems of the city beaches. In the 90’s it was thought also to Avalon as the set for the TV series Baywatch, but residents protested, and the production decided to desist.
Closed by two headlands at the ends, much appreciated by surfers, it is a good destination for those who just love walking along the sea. On the “retro” line up bars and cafes, a public swimming pool on the south side, so much peace and tranquility, Avalon Beach is a good destination for those looking for good vibes.
